Brookhaven gets level 3 “fast chargers” to support burgeoning EV transition ⚡
While Brookhaven already has one of the highest concentrations of Electric Vehicle (EV) use and EV charging stations in the metropolitan area, there’s always room for more. At its regular business meeting on Feb. 25, the Brookhaven City Council voted for two more.
The agreement with Sona Energy Solutions, LLC provides for two privately-owned-and-operated DCFC (Direct Current Fast Charging) EV chargers on Dresden Drive, approximately halfway between the two other publicly accessible DCFC EV chargers within Brookhaven (Electrify America in Cambridge Square and GA Power in the PSB public parking area).
The agreement with Sona Energy Solutions, LLC provides that Brookhaven will receive a share of charging station revenue for the privilege to use the public right-of-way for the location of the new DCFC EV chargers.
